Fiat may not be renowned for having the sportiest of model line ups, but the Italian firm aren’t strangers when it comes to building a hot hatchback. The original Punto GT was a proper pocket rocket back in 1993 thanks to a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 130bhp.
Fast-forward to 2008 and the sporty Punto lives again, this time named the Grande Punto Abarth. This sleep, three-door hatchback comes from the factory with 155bhp or 180bhp, lightweight alloy wheels and buckets of torque which allows it to hit 60mph in 7.5-seconds.
What’s more, the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine has already shown huge potential with simple breathing mods and a remap taking power to over 220bhp.
