For more than 30 years, the BMW M5 has been fascinating and enthralling enthusiasts all over the world – and none more so than the latest F90 saloon.
Luckily for M5 F90 owners KW automotive has developed a new Variant 4 coilover kit with independently adjustable three-way dampers. The aluminium-bodied damper units feature a stepless adjustment range of 10 to 30 millimetres on both axles. Due to the possibility of independent damper adjustment in the rebound forces as well as low speed- and high speed compression forces, the pre-set performance setup of the Variant 4 can be changed to a more comfort-oriented road setup.
While the new BMW M5 (F90) is inspired by racing with its numerous BMW M components such as an active M-differential, M-Steptronic eight-speed gearbox and M carbon ceramic brake system. The new KW Variant 4 offers a coilover suspension that really works on both road and track and allows the M5 to be lowered statically from any drop between 10 to 30 mm.
The separately adjustable rebound as well as low speed and high speed compression damping give M5 drivers plenty of options to individually adapt their car to their personal driving preferences. The three-way valve technology of the Variant 4, with its sixteen clicks for rebound damping forces, six clicks in low speed compression stage (seven characteristic curves) and fifteen clicks in high speed compression stage (sixteen characteristic curves), allows the BMW M5 to be adjusted in driving behaviour to the personal preferences of the driver.
