Huge fapping brakes don’t just look cool, they also make you faster. If you’re the last of the late brakers and you sometimes wonder if you’ve left enough space to stop safely, then Forge has the upgrade for you.
There’s no denying the Mk1 TT’s credentials as a fast, capable road car for hustling along your favourite stretches of tarmac. With the choice of both front wheel drive (180bhp) and Quattro versions (225bhp) to choose from there’s no denying the 1.8 20v turbo packing TT has plenty of performance potential locked within.
As is always the case, power is nothing without control, and that’s never more relevant than when adding some extra horses to a vehicle that’s already deceptively fast-paced out of the box. Sure, the standard brakes can cope with factory levels of go, but once you’re really putting them to the test repeatedly as that next apex looms, it’s anyone’s guess as to whether the worry of bum-clenching brake fade might kick in.
Luckily, thanks to years of big brake know how across a broad church of performance cars, Forge is equipped with the knowledge and hardware to overcome those worrying moments. Thanks to the latest six-piston, 356 x 32mm brake caliper and floating disc upgrade every Audi TT 8N and S3 8L owner will become the last of the late brakers.
Fade will also become a thing of the past as uprated EBC Yellowstuff pads are shipped with every kit, as well as braided brake lines to help maximise fluid transfer under high pressure. No longer will the question of a spongy middle pedal be raised thanks to the thermal transfer properties of the grooved bell and rotor brake discs that weigh just 9.3kg.
The calipers themselves are also available in a variety of finishes including red, blue and black, not to mention custom optional finishes, if you want to custom dress to impress.
In the box there’s the two-piece discs, brake calipers, braided hoses, CNC adapters, EBC pads and all of the bolts and hardware required for fitting. Top stoppers.
