No tears were shed as it could’ve been a lot worse, but this Ferrari F40 crash will still make your bank account cringe.
It’s not often that you see a modified Ferrari F40, and it’s even rarer to see one take damage. Well, this following clip has both of those things all wrapped up in one series of unfortunate events that took place at Formula Drift Seattle.
Before we continue though, we should put you at ease with the knowledge that only minor damage was done, so no Prancing Horses were (seriously) injured in the making of this footage. The caption claims that a stuck throttle was the cause of the incident, but personally we’d take that explanation with a pinch of salt. Anyway, here’s the clip, courtesy of @garnetsgti on TikTok.
@garnetsgti Could’ve been worse all things considered. The throttle got stuck and the car has no ABS #fyp #fdsea #formuladrift #f40 #ferrari #crash ♬ Kerosene – Crystal Castles
Pink Ferrari F40
Now, if you’re thinking that this Ferrari looks rather familiar, you aren’t the only one. We were enamored by it when we saw it in the flesh at SEMA last year – in fact, it even made our shortlist of the top ten cars at SEMA 2022. Wrapped in Inozetek Super Gloss Rosewater, it instantly catches your eye. Undoubtedly, it’s a divisive build, but we love it. Beyond the pink hue, this F40 is also packing a custom titanium exhaust which apparently cost nearly $30k if you believe it. The look is completed by a set of BBS LM center-lock alloys and lowered KW suspension.
Ferrari are known to be notoriously stingy when it comes to modified vehicles, famously handing Deadmau5 a cease and desist notice when he tried to sell on his highly-altered 458 Italia. The internationally-renowned DJ had wrapped the car in a livery depicting early internet meme, Nyan Cat, as well as re-badging it as a ‘Purrari’. The Italians didn’t see the funny side. Let’s hope that this pink F40 escapes a similar fate, because although this small crash hasn’t killed it, a lawsuit just might…
