BMW tuning house AC Schnitzer has launched a handful of new performance packages, with the all-electric i4 taking centre stage.
It’s a busy time over at AC Schnitzer. In the past week, the renowned tuning house has lifted the lid on four new upgrade packages for the latest BMWs (and MINIs!).
The major new arrival is the kit for BMW’s electric i4 saloon. With a battery-electric powertrain that already kicks out 536hp, AC Schnitzer did the sensible thing and focused on other areas of the car instead.
The most noticeable upgrade is the new aggressive aero package, while a set of 20-inch aftermarket rims are thrown into the mix too for good measure. Crucially, that new set of shoes comes wrapped in premium Michelin rubber, ensuring a noticeable handling improvement over the standard car. The sense of occasion is continued inside, where you’ll find an array of AC Schnitzer-branded furnishings.
However, if EVs just aren’t your thing, fear not. The M240i xDrive coupe has also been on the receiving end of the Schnitzer treatment.
Acting as a precursor for the much-anticipated M2, AC Schnitzer’s spin on this little sports car endows it with 420hp: a 52hp increase over the standard car.
You also get a 20-25mm reduction in ride height, as well as a performance exhaust (complete with carbon tailpipes), and subtly reworked aero package.
Finally, a couple of BMW models have recently undergone facelifts, so naturally AC Schnitzer had to go back to the drawing board too.
The X3 SUV now shares most of its bodywork with the electric iX3, meaning that the front splitter and rear wing designed for the latter vehicle can now be shared across both models. The latest MINI, meanwhile, receives an updated grille cover on top of the existing upgrades package offered. If you’re interested, that kit boosts the little hot hatch’s peak power figure to 265hp, and also includes all the accompanying suspension, exhaust, aero, and tyre enhancements that you’d expect.
