It doesn’t matter how old we get, Lego will always hold a little place in our hearts. And the latest addition to the Lego Technic series is just darn right cool isn’t it?
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 Lego Technic car is made up of 3778 pieces, and features a functioning 8-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifter on the steering wheel, as well as moving pistons within the V12 engine. Fans can get even closer to the action by recreating the Ferrari Daytona SP3’s elegant design and sleek aerodynamics as they build this traffic-stopping red model.
Sat side by side with the real thing and the new Ferrari Daytona SP3 Lego Technic looks spot on, even coming complete with operational butterfly doors opening up to reveal small details in the cabin that nod back to the real life model, including the famous prancing horse embossed on the steering wheel.
Once built, the Lego Ferrari Daytona SP3 measures 14cm high, 59cm long and 25cm wide.
Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer, Flavio Manzoni, said: “It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with the Lego Group on this model, a stunning replica of our limited-edition Daytona SP3 supercar. Thanks to this outstanding recreation with Lego elements, Ferrari and Lego fans can now build this car piece-by-piece and feel like they are participants in the assembly process, with the opportunity to display the final model in their own homes, where they will be able to appreciate its beauty”.
