Say hello to the all-new, limited-run Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco, as the Texas-tuner ramps up Ford’s EcoBoost V6 in the Bronco Raptor to 500hp and 550lb-ft of torque.
No V8? No problem. In true Hennessey fashion, the Bronco Raptor’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine has been treated to an extensive list of upgrades, which sees peak power now at 500hp, alongside 550lb-ft of torque, that’s an increase of around 80hp and 102lb-ft of torque.
The Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco achieves this power thanks to a new, bigger, freer-flowing intercooler to help keep things cool in the engine bay, a new stainless-steel, free-flowing exhaust system, a new air induction kit and the obligatory ECU remap to help extract the most out of those modifications.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “Our customers are big fans of the new Bronco, but they’ve been asking us for more power and greater performance capabilities from day one. Ford’s Raptor version is a big improvement, but the engine has even more potential. Our engineering team has released its potency to create the ultimate all-powerful off-road SUV.”
Away from the performance figures, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 Bronco boasts new 18-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch tyres, customer front and rear bumper, new electronic step plates, and an assortment of graphics, badges and embroidery denoting its Hennessey VelociRaptor pedigree.
Just 200 Hennessey VelociRaptor 500’s will be built, and all cars with the Hennessey package are treated to a three-year/36,000 mile warranty for some piece of mind.
