Japanese tuning house Cusco has unveiled new mods for GR Corolla and Subaru WRX builds, aiming to enhance the handling of both cars.
The Subaru WRX and Toyota GR Corolla are two models which have every right to become favorites amongst tuning enthusiasts. But given how new they are, many aftermarket companies have needed a while to get to grips with the new gear. Now though, we’re beginning to see more and more parts become available for these cars, and Cusco is the latest supplier to get involved. So, what’s on offer?
Cusco’s new mods for GR Corolla
Let’s tackle the Toyota first. Cusco now offer everything you could possibly want when overhauling a car’s chassis running gear with performance in mind. To keep things as simple as possible, I’ve compiled them into a quick list:
Coilovers are a go-to first mod, as their impact on both handling and style represents great bang for buck. Cusco are offering five different options for the GR Corolla, which are as follows…
- street ZERO A – if you daily your GR Corolla, you’ll want these, as they ensure you still get a reasonably ride while lowering the car. You get 40 steps of damping adjustment, and a twin-tube shock absorber design. Consider them the entry-level option. RRP: 187,000Y ($1242.80)
- Sport S – 1-way adjustable, monotube, with 24 steps of damping adjustment. Good for daily use, with headroom to dial in a more aggressive setup on trackdays. RRP: 272,800Y ($1813.03)
- Sport TN_S – 2-way monotube system designed for high-end street tuning and very capable on track too. RRP: 338,800Y ($2251.66)
Then, there are some options intended for cars which see more time on the street than the track:
- Sport R – 1-way adjustable, monotube, tuned for track builds. RRP: 294,800Y ($1959.24)
- Sport TN_R – 2-way monotube design worthy of pro motorsport, or extremely avid track day drivers. RRP: 360,800Y ($2397.88)
Once you’ve got your coilovers, you might want to invest in these:
- sway bars
- toe links
- Type OS strut bar
- power braces
- suspension arms
- bushings

Cusco’s new mods for Subaru WRX
First of all, I know its initial reception was frosty, but look how good the new WRX cleans up once you lower it and ditch the arch cladding. That rear wing helps too, to be fair. Fortunately, now that we’ve established it can indeed be a desirable car after all, Cusco’s given it the same treatment as the GR Corolla. Check out the new parts for it in the wall decoration pictured above.
I’ll be honest, the list is pretty similar to that of the Corolla, so instead of repeating myself, I’ll forward you straight onto the full Subaru WRX Cusco parts catalogue (with handy USD conversions!) if you’re interested in learning more.
