We check out Sian Singer’s Fierce Fuchsia MINI Cooper S…
A project car never seems destined to be completely finished. It’s usually more of a moving target and magazine features are merely a snapshot on a timeline. That’s not the case with Sian Singer’s seemingly flawless modified MINI though, as she appears to be content.
“Yeah, it’s finished,” she declares. “I can’t come up with anything else I want to do, other than take it to shows and enjoy it!” Looking at this brilliant and bright creation, sitting pretty on Alfa rims, it’s not hard to understand exactly why she feels this way about her beloved MINI.
Sian’s car history began with a Mercedes 190E! Not your typical first car choice but she loved it. “Even though nothing worked,” Sian laughs. Next came more common choices such as a Fiesta, Astra and a Civic Sport. They all received a few mods here and there, but nothing extreme. That was all to come!
The MINI was Sian’s first proper project but looked very different when she got hold of the car in 2013. Back then it was a factory standard supercharged 1.6L Cooper S, black in colour and sporting a chrome pack.
She was happy to keep it this way for around two years before turning things up a notch. “I had the bumper smoothed, gave it a set of Rotiform NUE rims, fitted the air-ride and changed the chrome trim for genuine carbon bits,” Sian explains.
“This included headlight surrounds, A pillars, door handles, wing mirrors and the fuel cap.” She added. It was looking more than tasty at this stage and even began scooping awards. But it was time for phase two.
Sian gambled on a full-on colour change with a 3M Fierce Fuchsia wrap combined with a satin black roof. The carbon parts were retained, headlights were split and painted black inside and all the lights were tinted.
These touches all make a pleasant contrast with the blinding bodywork. Ditching Roti rims was a bold move as they suited the car well, but the custom fit Alfa Romeo SV splits with grey faces are a hit.
Looking inside the cabin, it’s something of a posh grid-look. Corbeau buckets are a stand out with a pink tartan re-trim and the dash is covered in genuine carbon pieces.
Further back, the rear bench has made way for a custom cage and a neat extended boot build that highlights the painted air tank and hard lines.
Sian’s modified MINI Cooper S ticks all the boxes, so it’s no surprise she considers it a complete project. She’s currently hitting the show circuit, continuing to pick up trophies and top the charts!
