When it comes to aftermarket exhausts there’s not a lot about for the A6 2.5 TDI 180 Avant. But rather than cry into my Coco Pops about it, I did the sensible thing and got booked into Welsh Coast Customs for a Powerflow system.
Amazingly this is the seventh system I’ve had built by Gareth at WCC. The reason? Well, quite simply, I can have my system tailored to exactly how I want it. Plus, they always do a fantastic job and as they are a Powerflow dealer, this means the exhaust comes with a lifetime guarantee for the buyer. Good, eh?
As the A6 has a lot of pipe work and runs dual pipes from the manifold, I had the system built from the centre section back to keep things a bit simpler.
Also, it’s worth mentioning if you have a diesel and are looking at changing your exhaust there’s been a recent change in the law. This now states: ‘Any vehicle where a catalytic converter or particulate filter is missing where one was fitted as standard will now fail the (MoT) test.’
Spec-wise I went from a 1 and 3/4 inch to a 2-inch pipe with twin backboxes which both feature RAi (round angle intern) tail pipes. Not only do they look great, these also fit the current rear bumper so well they look almost OEM in fitment.
Driving wise I’ve been really impressed as well, the car’s responsiveness has definitely been improved, and of course it sounds a lot better as well. Happy days!
