The time has come to take our BMW 335i project to the next level with the much-anticipated suspension upgrade! In Part 1, we gave you an overview of our build and plans, and now, we’re diving into the first major mod — installing a set of PB Coilovers to completely transform how this beast handles on the road. The 335i might not be an M3, but with the right suspension setup, it’s about to feel like one!
Why Upgrade the BMW 335i Suspension?
Let’s face it, while the E92 335i is a fantastic platform, it wasn’t exactly designed with hardcore performance in mind—that privilege was reserved for its big brother, the M3. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make this 335i handle like an out-and-out sports car. By upgrading to a set of coilovers, we’re aiming to drastically improve handling, reduce body roll, and achieve a lower, more aggressive stance.

After installing the coilovers, we adjusted the ride height to our desired level (we recommend allowing for a 5mm buffer as the car will settle after a couple of days). Finally, we took the car in for a professional alignment to ensure everything was dialled in perfectly.
The whole process took about 3 hours, and wow—what a difference! The car feels more planted, the steering is more responsive, and cornering is so much fun! Best of all, the ride is still comfortable enough for daily driving, but with a noticeably sportier edge.
