1. Pininfarina made seven Ferrari 456 GT ‘Venice’ estates including one in a rather fetching yellow for the Sultan of Brunei. Apparently he ordered seven, then decided he only wanted six.
2. Aston Martin made both a three, and five door estate Virage as a conversion for customers. The five door has a 6.3ltr V8 and seating for seven.
3. For those times when a regular Bentley isn’t enough, you could get a ‘Cal d’Isere’ converted by Jankel. Quite a few were made including several with 4×4 conversions.
4. The first MG estate car was an MG Montego estate which was only ever sold in New Zealand. Strange.
5. BMW made a pair of estate 735is for a display at Frankfurt. One has gone missing and the other is a RHD version which allegedly is somewhere in America.
6. Several companies carried our estate conversions for Porsche 924 and 944s including DP Motorsport and Strosek.
7. We bet you’ve never seen one of these, it’s a super-rare UR Quattro estate that was converted by Avus. Cool eh?
8. Did you know that you could get Corsa estate? It was called various names including the Opel Swing and Chevy Monza depending on which country it was sold.
9. The fastest estate car of all time is tuned Roush-engined 765bhp MGZT-T which hit 225.609mph on the Bonneville salt flats in the USA. It was code named X-15 after the recording breaking Mach 7 jet fighter.
10. If you are lucky enough to live in Japan you can get a full on 276bhp Mitsubishi Evo Wagon. Form an orderly queue please.
