Hennessey has unveiled the Last Stand models as a last hoorah for the Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars, tuning the Hellcat HEMI V8 engine up to 1000bhp.
Limited to just 50 exclusive examples of coupe and sedan, the Hennessey Last Stand models are the tuner’s way of saying goodbye to the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat HEMI V8 engine. And in true John Hennessey fashion, its going out with a rather large bang.
Starting life as a Dodge Hellcat Charger or Challenger, performance upgrades are a plenty. These include a larger supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, a high-flow induction system, pulley upgrade, stainless-steel long tube headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a crankcase ventilation system. As a result, power has grown from 807hp to 1000hp. And best of all, it’s backed by a warranty…
Styling-wise, you can identify the Hennessey H1000 Last Stand models by the introduction of a new carbon fiber rear spoiler, front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. You’ll have no doubt also spotted those new 20-inch alloys; these wheels can be finished in either gloss black or graphite-colored. You can also opt for special heritage Last Stand graphics, as well as a plaque denoting the build number for each of the 50 cars.
How fast are the Hennessey Last Stand H1000 models?
Packing 1000hp and 948lb ft of torque, Hennessey claims that the upgraded motor should see the Charger and Challenger Hellcat models accelerate from 0-60mp in 2.8 seconds. It’ll go on to complete the standing ¼ mile in 9.9 seconds at a speed of 141mph.
Power-wise, the Hennessey Last Stand cars are just 25hp away from Dodge’s flagship SRT Demon 170. But the best part is, the H1000 Last Stand cars can run this on unleaded gasoline from a pump. In the Demon 170 you’ll need an E85 ethanol mixture . Not ideal for the regular road, then.
For owners of 2021-2023 Dodge SRT Challenger and Charger models, you’re in luck, as you can purchase the H1000 upgrade package without opting for the full limited-run Hennessey Last Stand model. While prices for this option aren’t confirmed as yet, that does give owners a healthy increase in performance. At the same time, Hennessey upgrades are backed by the company’s 3-year / 36,000 mile warranty.
