The super-trick new range of TSW rims has certainly been making waves on the scene at the start of 2013 but we have to say one of our favourite examples is the one right here – the thoroughly simple but devastatingly handsome Tanaka.
Named after the Tanaka International, a big bucks private test track for the rich and famous in Japan, we love its sleek concave twist on the classic 5-spoke design.
We love that it’s available in plenty of staggered sizes right up to a gargantuan 10.5×20-incher too and we love the fact that there’s plenty of PCDs to sort out all the most suitable motors.
There’s one thing we REALLY love though, and it’s that these wheels are rotary forged. What’s that then? It’s freaking awesome, that’s what it is! A process normally reserved for ridiculously expensive hardware, all these hoops undergo high pressure forging while spinning at high speed to drastically alter their molecular structure and make them multiple times stronger.
This means they can be built to be significantly lighter than their more common cast counterparts because, as it states in any properly scientific manual, less weight equals better performance.
Put quite simply, when Jesus is out shopping for a set of hoops for his heavenly chariot, rotary forging is what he looks for. And that dear reader is good enough for us!
